Helen Walker

Helen Walker is the central Queensland journalist for Queensland Country Life, based in the beef capital Rockhampton.

She comes to the position after growing up with a strong rural background firstly in Longreach, then Mackay.

Initially joining Queensland Country Life in 1980, she has previously been features editor, property editor, and served in postings based in Brisbane, Toowoomba,

Roma, Longreach, and now Rockhampton.

Helen believes the best part of being a country based journalist is keeping in touch at grassroots level, and talking first hand to producers at either an event or on-farm, and

listening to what they have to say about issues that affect their daily lives and rural business.
