Farm Manager

Irrigated Cattle Fattening Property

Theodore - Dawson Valley, Queensland

2600 acre dedicated cattle fattening property including 1000 acres
of irrigated Leucaena and winter and summer fodder crops
on the banks of the Dawson River.

Acacia is family owned and has recently been purchased to fatten cattle bred on other properties in central and western Queensland. It is currently being completely re-developed with center pivots into a highly productive, rotationally grazed, irrigated cattle fattening property.

The successful candidate will have direct responsibility for the day to day management of the property and must have some cropping and cattle experience. An understanding of rotational grazing principles including pasture and livestock monitoring skills and operation of modern computerised technologies would be an advantage.

The key component of this role is to efficiently grow as much productive dry matter as possible including planting and management of irrigated oats and forage sorghum and graze in timely manner to optimize production. The successful candidate will have ample support particularly with cattle processing and management.

Personal attributes must include honesty, approachability and a passion to achieve the best results.

This is an exciting opportunity for a quality candidate to manage a very well developed productive farming asset into the future.

For further details contact Rob on 0418 955 363 and for a more detailed job description email r.mcgavin@boundarybend.com with the subject heading "Acacia".
