Best WA break for years

A CLASSIC South West frontal system last week sprayed the WA Wheatbelt with good soaking rains to mark the break of the season for most farmers.

The big winners were in the northern Wheatbelt with double digit rainfall recordings in every district.

More than 25mm of rain fell west of a line from Kalbarri to Hopetoun, with recordings becoming patchier to the east.

More rain is forecast this weekend for all areas, with Great Southern and South West districts set to benefit the most.

I think Ken is suffering Metro flu - eyes shut and ears blocked. The wheat belt is is like patchwork with big variations in rainfall and a wind that negated poor falls in many areas. If this is the best break for years then I hope the season doesn't become average!

Glad you said "most" farmers west of the line benefitted!! Some of us within 150km of Perth only managed 12mm of rain. So while strictly speaking this is a break, it's barely enough to bring up a weed.
