DAVID Kilpatrick has resigned as managing director of Rural Traders Company Limited and intends to pursue his other business interests.

The boards of RTC has accepted the resignation and appointed chairman Max Cameron as acting CEO.

He will be directly supported by Andy Gilmour, managing partner of the Perth office of the accounting firm RSM Bird Cameron, in the full range of financial and trading analysis and control. David Kilpatrick will also make himself available when required.

"Over the last eight months, I have worked closely with Mr Gilmour at the West Australian Meat Marketing Cooperative (WAMMCO) where, in similar roles we have managed to turn what was a major deficit into a surplus," said Mr Cameron.

Mr Cameron said that recent credit facilities provided by major shareholders had enabled the Company to overcome its prior year trading losses and put the business back on track.

"The problems with our computer systems have been resolved and outstanding accounts filed with ASIC. We will soon be issuing a notice convening a meeting of shareholders to consider the latest accounts," he said.
