DATES have been set for next season's cricket Country Week, which will again be sponsored by Wesfarmers Dalgety. Next season's Wesfarmers Dalgety Junior Country Week begins on Monday, January 8, and finishes on Friday, January 12, and the senior competition begins on Sunday, January 21 and ends on Sunday, January 28. The event's governing body, the WA Country Cricket Executive, is looking to increase the number of competing teams at the 2001 championships. Its aim is to attract more teams from the far North West of WA and other remote locations, such as Ravensthorpe. All towns in rural WA are encouraged to enter a team for next season's Country Weeks, to experience an event that is an integral part of WA's rural sporting tradition. pMore information: Colin Bettles, work 9265 7210, fax 9221 1059; colinb@waca.com.au
