NATIONAL Australia Bank (NAB) has appointed commodity marketing specialist Mark Pontifex to its treasury team in Western Australia.
Mark has 11 years’ experience in grain marketing and risk management, including the past five years with CBH Group, most recently as a Trading Manager in lupins, oats and pulses.
He will work closely with grain marketing advisors and larger growers across Western Australia and South Australia to develop strategies to effectively manage commodity price risk.
Rod Fraser, NAB’s Head of Agribusiness Treasury Management, says Mark’s appointment as Associate Director Commodities adds value to the services provided to agribusiness clients in the state, which already include dedicated agribusiness financial planning and rural lending.
“Mark’s appointment will beef up the resources and expertise available to NAB’s grain marketing advisors in Western Australia and South Australia,” Mr Fraser said.
“His experience at CBH will enable him to assist our customers’ optimise their commodity marketing plans, such as providing advice on hedging opportunities,” he said.
Based in Perth, Mark will work with Brett Millard and Scott Gladman and the team of dedicated agribusiness bankers in risk management for agribusiness clients.
Mark commenced his role in November.
