DEPARTMENT OF Agriculture and Food (DAFWA) director general Rob Delane has been reappointed for a further five years.
Public Sector Commissioner Mal Wauchope announced last month that the administrator in executive council had approved the reappointment of Mr Delane after consultation with the Agriculture and Food Minister Ken Baston and the Rural Business Development Corporation chairman Rob Sands.
Mr Delane will also continue as chief executive officer of the Rural Business Development Corporation.
His reappointment is effective from November 2, 2014, for a term of five years.
Mr Delane has held the position of director general at DAFWA since November 2009.
Prior to his apppointment in 2009, he held the position of Biosecurity Services Group deputy secretary and Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service executive director at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
Mr Delane is leading a transformation of DAFWA to deliver increased value to businesses in the agrifood sector.
He is a keen promoter of regional, State, national and international co-operative initiatives and government-industry partnerships that harness innovation to deliver more efficient and effective services.
In 2007 Mr Delane received a Public Service Medal for outstanding service to the sector and WA community.
