Handy rain hits Wheatbelt

Handy rain has fallen for a lucky few centres in the WA Wheatbelt, but most of the falls in the last 24 hours have been limited to coastal areas.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, since 9am yesterday Cunderdin has received 23mm and Dalwallinu has received 20mm.

In Great Southern Katanning has received 11mm, Lake Grace 19mm, Wandering 10mm and Newdegate 18mm.

But the best falls have been on the coast, with Hopetoun North receiving 26mm, Esperance 15mm, Jacup 26mm, Gingin 26mm, and Geraldton 25mm.

According to The Weather Company, a cloudband is currently streaming over southwest WA with a slow-moving cold front.

Skies are clear elsewhere in dry, warm and gusty northerly winds.

The Bureau is forecasting for today moderate to heavy falls in southern parts of the Central West, Central Wheat Belt, northeast parts of the Great Southern, SW Goldfields, and the SE Coastal districts.

Light to moderate falls elsewhere.
