A HIDDEN treasure trove in the South West is about to be revealed by the Primaries selling team when they offer at auction an impressive collection of antiques and collectables, including many authentic items from the United Kingdom, at the clearing sale of P & J Smith, Paynedale.
The two-day sale will be conducted on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 8.
Day one of the selling will feature everything a South West cocky could dream of, including tractors and modern farm gear.
The majority of collectables will be available on day two of selling, including old farm tools, "old world" items and small machinery along with the collectables and antique furniture.
Patrick and Jill Smith have been farming in Paynedale for about 10 years since selling their property in Ongerup and making the change to the South West, but it's time for them to retire to suburbia.
Among the items accumulated over the years, which will be offered during the sale, are many sent out to them by Patrick's parents who farmed in England.
Shipping containers filled with furniture and other old items were sent to Australia where the Smiths have looked after them ever since.
Most have been stored safely over the years in suitcases and boxes in the sheds and stables and are in good condition.
Primaries South West representative Neil Foale said the collection has to be seen to be believed.
"This will be the largest sale, lot-wise, that we have ever encountered," he said.
"In fact, we are struggling to find room to display everything in the two-day sale."
The sale is a fantastic opportunity for anyone keen to get their hands on a bit of history.
So if you're in the South West on March 31 and April 8 with some time to spare, cruise down to the two-day clearing sale at 1663 Goodwood Road, and you'll be glad you did.
Both sales kick off at 11am so don't miss the chance to get in early and sniff out a gem.
