Premier Colin Barnett today announced the new faces in State Cabinet.

AS widely speculated, Agriculture and Food Minister Ken Baston has been sacked in todays Cabinet reshuffle and replaced by Transport Minister Dean Nalder.

Premier Colin Barnett announced this morning, Mr Nalder will add the Agriculture and Food to his portfolio and Minister Joe Francis will add Fisheries to his portfolios, including Emergency Services, Corrective Services and Veterans.

He told media that Mr Nadler had commercial knowledge about the sector.

"The Cabinet puts a focus on the key portfolios which will be instrumental in broadening our economy including, Tourism, State Development, Agriculture and Food and Fisheries," Mr Barnett said.

"It showcases the breadth and depth within the Parliamentary Liberal Party that we are able to make so many changes while invigorating the Cabinet team.

"Ken Baston has identified new and developing markets for agricultural products and therefore established a platform in agriculture which will serve the State well.

"I would like to thank outgoing Ministers Kim Hames, Helen Morton and Ken Baston for their tireless work in their various portfolios in the term of the Government."

Wow, so in the Premier's words Nalder has a 'commercial knowledge about the sector'. Can anyone explain what that actually means and how useful it will be to him actually delivering some benefit for the State's farmers? Anyone?
