Shearing day raises $12,000 for charity

10 Feb, 2016 01:00 AM

WHILE the solo Merino ewe shearing world record eluded shearer Beau Guelfi on Saturday, he achieved another aim, raising more than $12,000 for children's charity Variety.

More than 250 people travelled to Carl Moltoni's Scenic Park property at Yathroo to watch the record attempt, with many staying on to bid for items at an auction and dance until 2am at an after party.

Farm Weekly's MAL GILL was there to catch the action and you can read the full article on the record attempt in Section 1 of this week's Farm Weekly.
