AUSTRALIAN agribusiness professionals were celebrated at the 17th annual NAB Agribusiness Awards for Excellence held in Melbourne last week.
The awards recognise achievments across the entire agribusiness sector and show off the diversity of Australian agriculture.
Craig Mostyn Group chief executive officer David Lock made WA proud bringing home the Agribusiness Leader of the Year award.
Humble in acceptance, Mr Lock said the award was recognition for the entire Craig Mostyn team.
"I am very much part of the team here at the Craig Mostyn Group," he said.
"You can't have a leader without a team.
"The award is acknowledgment of all we have done together over the last eight years while I have been CEO.
"We have focused the company and built the company into the very successful organisation that it is now."
Mr Lock spent the first four years in the position overhauling the company and restructuring 18 business units down to just three - Linley Valley Pork, Recycling and Craig Mostyn Foods.
He has overseen a climb in the market share from 10 to 85 per cent which allowed the business to grow its supermarket sales and export 30pc of its production.
The Craig Mostyn Group is now the major supplier of pork into Singapore.
Mr Lock was also a finalist in the 2011 awards.
