WAFarmers to host MIS meetings

29 May, 2009 02:28 PM

WAFarmers has organised grower meetings in Manjimup and Mt Barker to discuss the impact on farmers affected by the collapse of forestry plantation managers, Timbercorp and Great Southern.

The meetings will be held on Thursday June 4 at the Overlander Hotel in Manjimup at 9:30am, and the Frost Pavilion at the Mt Barker Racecourse at 2:30pm.

Representatives from Kott Gunning Lawyers, the WAFarmers legal team, will be in attendance at both meetings to address issues of concern for farmers who have leased land under the Managed Investment Schemes, and provide information on the likely effects the voluntary administration of both Timbercorp and Great Southern Ltd will have on farmers.

WAFarmers president, Mike Norton, said the meetings would be informative and beneficial to farmers impacted by the collapse of Timbercorp and Great Southern.

The free of charge meetings will be provided by WAFarmers and Kott Gunning Lawyers and are open to WAFarmers members and non-members.

To register your attendance, please contact WAFarmers on (08) 9486 2100 or email wafarmers@wafarmers.org.au.
