PRODUCERS are looking for new ways to combat the issue of wild dogs that continue to plague pastoral properties in the Northern Agricultural Region.
Next week, producers from Perenjori, Dalwallinu and the Shire of Greater Geraldton will attend workshops to discuss how to tackle the growing problem.
The workshops, to be delivered by the Department of Agriculture and Food (DAFWA) and Australian Wool Innovation, will discuss baiting, trapping, cameras, dog behaviour, mapping, dog signs, lure and pest ejectors.
DAFWA biosecurity officer Kate Detchon said they would equip landholders with improved information and tools to manage wild dogs on an individual basis.
"We will also be highlighting the importance of working together on a community basis to manage wild dogs," Ms Detchon said.
"DAFWA biosecurity officer Jim Miller will discuss wild dog behaviour and management options including baiting, trapping, lures and Canid Pest Ejectors.
He will also discuss the importance of correct signage when carrying out control.
Workshops will be in Perenjori on June 14, Dalwallinu on June 15 and in the Greater Geraldton shire on June 17.
