York's 'nasho' day

CALLING all country Nashos - national servicemen.

The York sub-branch of the National Servicemen's Association will hold a special presentation day on Friday, May 4, in the Federation Room, Castle Hotel, York, for recipients of the 50th year commemorative medal.

Judi Moylan MP, the Federal Member for Pearce will officially present the medal to all recipients.

Those eligible are the 227,000 called up for the first intake between 1951 to 1959, the 60,000 called up for Vietnam between 1965 and 1972 and the 33,000 who opted for longer service in the Citizens' Military Forces (as an alternative to National Service).

The medal is an official reward and there will be no charge to recipients. Application forms for the medal are available from the York sub-branch secretary, RMB 4033, York, 6302.

If Nashos have already received their medal but would like it to be officially presented by Judi Moylan, or want further information, call the secretary on 0427 414 038 or after 7pm on 9641 4038.
