Youth and experience combine for landcare

27 Nov, 2000 03:00 PM

A FORUM for young people interested in landcare issues will be held in conjunction with the State Landcare Conference in 2001. The theme is the integration of local experience with youthful enthusiasm to create a future together. The youth forum will give young people aged between 16 and 19 years the opportunity to explore landcare problems in an outdoor setting, develop leadership skills and meet other young people who care about the environment. The two days of learning about a variety of landcare issues will involve field trips to explore environmental issues and interaction with key experts, while working in an informal team setting. The youth forum will be held at Fairbridge Farm, near Pinjarra, on September 10 and 11, 2001. pMore information and expressions of interest should be forwarded to Michael Burke, 9622 0200 or Janet McCreddin, 9531 1788. Application forms will be available from January 2001.
