$1080 cows at Mt Barker

GELBVIEH-ANGUS cross cows with calves at foot sold to $1080 at Wesfarmers Landmark's post trade sale offering at Mt Barker last week.

The March-April drop calves were by a Limousin bull and sold by Waymar Grazing, Albany, who had not rejoined the cows. The top selling pen of nine sixth calvers were bought by A Beale, Esperance, who bought a further seven similar type for $1040. Also from the Waymar Grazing offering were 10 Murray Grey cross cows with calves which sold for $1020 and six more which also sold for $1020 to complete a successful sale for Waymar Grazing's Wayne Jarman, who sold nine Angus-Hereford cows with calves for $990.

In a herd dispersal FC and M Scott, Denmark, sold seven Limousin cross cows with Murray Grey calves at foot for $1020 and 18 Murray Grey mixed age cows with March-April calves sold for $980.

Five Poll Hereford mixed age cows and calves made $850, four more of the same $840 and five more sold for $740. These cows had not been rejoined.
