TULLIBARDINE Murray Grey stud, Albany, excelled at this year's Smoke Free Perth Royal Show, taking home broad ribbons from both the bull and female section in the Murray Grey judging and the all important supreme champion ribbon.
Judge Rob Hutchinson, Taminick, Victoria, made it clear from the start that an animal's structure and the ability to walk freely was high on his judging agenda and, with six studs representing the breed, he was not disappointed.
The supreme champion, Tullibardine Delectable D88, rose to the top from the junior bull class, born between April 2008 and the end of July 2008, before going on to take the junior champion and grand champion ribbons.
He had a high EMA of 108cm and was sired by Monterey Gotcha out of Tullibardine Rowella.
Mr Hutchinson said the supreme champion exhibit was a very structurally sound, complete calf.
Delectable was up against the grand champion female Watermill Stephanie C40, exhibited by the Giles family's Willawa Greys Murray Grey stud, in the supreme judging.
Stephanie was a September 2007-drop female and was also the senior and grand champion female.
