Top bulls in Vasse sale

24 Apr, 2001 10:00 PM

ONLY the very best yearling bulls from WA's leading beef cattle studs are entered Agricultural WA's feed conversion trial held at the Vasse Research Station near Busselton.

The results will be announced at the conclusion of the trial, which will take place at the Research Station on Wednesday, May 2.

Wesfarmers Landmark will conduct a sale of some the trial bulls during the afternoon with buyers offered the chance to secure some quality bulls.

Last year a Murray Grey bull offered by Richard Metcalfe, Melaleuca Murray Grey stud, Manypeaks, sold for the top price of $5000 and was bought by Glyn Bevan, Reland Pty Ltd, Unicup.

Wesfarmers Landmark stud cattle auctioneer John Wirth said buyers could be well assured that this year's sale would again feature some excellent quality yearling bulls.

"A range of breeds will be on offer at the sale and all interested people are invited to attend," he said.

"Wesfarmers Landmark are proud to be associated with the trial and are fully committed to assisting in any way to help the beef industry."
