BROWNES Dairy is set to be in the spotlight again after stage two of its award-winning Use-By-Date advertising campaign hits lounge rooms across the State in less than a month.
Stage one saw the dairy giant set a 'use-by-date' on all Eastern States milk products.
It called for WA consumers to stop buying imported dairy goods and support WA farmers.
The campaign not only made a significant improvement in Brownes' sales figures, but it also won the Campaign of the Year at the WA Advertisers awards.
Brownes is now doing it all again.
But this time, according to Brownes marketing manager Claire Spalding, they were using WA consumers as the stars, rather than local dairy farmers.
"We got a huge response from consumers after the first stage of the campaign," she said.
"There was a huge reaction from consumers who said they hadn't known about the plight of our dairy farmers, but were now on board.
"So we wanted to send that message of hope back to our farmers."
The advert will feature a number of everyday Perth consumers who wanted to send their own message to the farmers in WA.
The ads will roll out across the State on June 2, 2013.
Two of the stars of the show were Perth university students Madeline Abbott and Robert Larrimar.
Ms Abbott and Mr Larrimar now live and study in Perth but were originally both from the South West.
Their regional connection made them more aware than many others of the current issues in dairy farming, but they still wanted to show their support.
"We have always supported WA dairy farmers but until the first Brownes ad campaign we didn't really know the affect buying imported products was having," Ms Abbott said.
"Since then we have started to only buy Brownes or WA dairy products."
Mr Larrimar said he had friends who were involved in the industry.
"I wanted to send a message to our dairy farmers that people in Perth do care and they do recognise things are tough," he said.
