WITH the weather fining up and 1000 head to choose from, the Elders Boyanup store cattle sale on Friday, September 16, will present a perfect opportunity to purchase quality stock.
Like previous sales, the feature will include a large yarding of 600 dairy steers and a special line of 85 PTIC beef heifers that are likely to be highly sought after.
Elders Busselton representative Clint Gartrell said the September store sale presented the perfect opportunity to purchase quality stock coming into the spring period.
"With good weather just around the corner and 1000 head to choose from, including large lines of Friesian steers, these cattle will provide a great investment to any farming operation," Mr Gartrell said.
"Renowned South West producers have placed great effort in providing well-bred cattle of beautiful quality, including 85 PTIC beef heifers and more than 200 beef steers and heifers.
"With female herd numbers in plateau, now would be a great time to stock up."
The large contingency of dairy steers will include the offering of 70 head from H Hansmark, Nannup.
These Friesian and Friesian-Jersey crosses are 20 to 24-months-old and are bucket-reared.
Neighbouring operation Dudinalup Pastoral, has nominated a line of 30 quality black and whites which are 22-24mo and in forward store condition.
Wonnerup producers P & G Oates, will offer 80 Friesians and these shouldn't be missed.
The owner-bred, bucket-reared steers are of outstanding quality and range from 14-18mo.
Coming in from the Abba River paddocks of RW & KM Oates, will be a substantial offering of 50 black and whites aged 14-18mo.
Dardanup operation Stenelees Pastoral will be another big contributor to the Friesian lanes when it offers 65 black and white steers aged 6-12mo.
Putting forward a line of 31 Friesian steers will be Kaleden Farms, Harvey.
These steers are aged 6-8mo.
Penned nearby will be 30 black and white poddies aged 4-6mo from regular vendors Negus Enterprises, Tutunup.
The Negus youngsters have been dehorned and given all the correct treatments prior to auction.
The smaller yarding of first-cross steers will include a line of 14 Angus-Friesians aged 18-20 months from Norsca Pty Ltd, Balingup, while 10 head of the same type aged 16-18mo will come from the paddocks of AJ Milner, Busselton.
Penned alongside these will be eight Angus-Friesians aged 16-18mo from G & S Marchant, Beelerup.
In the beef steer section there will be a quality offering of 20 Angus and Murray Grey steers aged 12-14 months from MK Barnes, Picton.
Morrisvale, Donnybrook, will have a draft of 18 Limousin cross steers in the 12-14 month age bracket, while Dardanup producers Thomas Cross Family Trust have nominated 13 Red Angus steers ranging from 14-16mo.
The beef heifer run will comprise of 25 quality Angus heifers from Depiazzi Agriculture Company, Dardanup.
These 12-14mo females are based on Koojan Hills, Blackrock and Monterey Angus genetics.
They are guaranteed unjoined, suitable for breeding or feeding and have had their 5in1 booster vaccine and Dectomax drench on July 20.
Donnybrook producers IN & BJ Trigwell have nominated 16 Murray Grey cross heifers aged 12-14mo, while 11 Charolais crosses aged 14-16mo will be offered by ED & JS Hoddell, Collie.
A feature of the sale will be a large run of 85 PTIC heifers.
The biggest offering in these feature pens will be 60 purebred Shorthorn heifers nominated by Gordon Bleechmore, GC & CA Bleechmore, Boyup Brook.
The genuine line of Crathes Park blood females are aged 18-24mo and are PTIC to Narralda Shorthorn and Little Meadows Angus bulls.
They are due to calve from the middle of February to the middle of April and were originally purchased at the January breeder's sale.
This unique offering is up for the takings due to the Bleechmore family relinquishing a lease property and having numbers surplus to requirements.
A line of 25 PTIC Murray Grey heifers from Skybrook Estate, Crooked Brook, also shouldn't be missed.
The even line of 22-24mo sliver females are mated to a Monterey Murray Grey bull and are due to calve from February 20 to May 1.
Uduc Brook, Harvey, have a single Murray Grey-Friesian cross fourth calver with a Murray Grey calf at foot and another Murray Grey-Friesian first calver with a Murray Grey calf at foot up for grabs.
Two purebred Murray Grey first calvers by Uduc will also be penned and have Murray Grey calves at foot.
