LEADERS in WA's agricultural industry were recognised this week with induction into the Agricultural Hall of Fame.
This year's inductees included Lou Giglia, David Lindsay and Nick Trandos and their inspiring influence on WA agriculture was recognised at an awards ceremony held yesterday.
Established in 1999 under the auspices of The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia, the Agricultural Hall of Fame pays tribute to the men and women who have shaped the history and had a significant impact on the present and future of agriculture.
Their portraits will hang alongside 52 fellow pioneers at the David Buttfield House at Claremont Showground and will be on display during the IGA Perth Royal Show.
Royal Agricultural Society of WA president Hugh Harding said each year the Hall of Fame offers the perfect opportunity to showcase those who make an important difference to the rural community.
"It is always a pleasure to highlight Western Australians who have led by example and achieved agricultural success over and above what is expected of them in society," Mr Harding said.
"These pioneers within the rural sector have not only had a significant impact on the agricultural industry but also helped WA to prosper."
