LANDMARK agents put together a quality yarding of 1200 weaners at the Boyanup special weaned sale at Boyanup last week with a good number of heavy pens presented.
Quality was again outstanding with a smaller gallery of buyers than past sales to compete, causing a softening of values from the extremes of the past recent sales.
The extra weight of the early pens balanced any lowering of liveweight values to some measure.
Perhaps escaping the easing of values was the heifer section where some vendors received more cents per kilogram than for their steers, with only weight difference keeping the steers ahead in value.
Steers sold to $1450 and 386c/kg while heifers topped at $1281 and 358c/kg.
