GLENDALE Gelbvieh stud's magnificent junior bull took top honours for the breed, as the supreme champion exhibit last week at the Perth Royal Show. TV & M Vinicombe's even 835kg bull beat a strong presentation of the Gelbvieh breed, nudging out T & L Kitchen's junior female for the purple sash. Glendale Taurus Star was described by judge Queensland judge Rod MacLean as outstanding. "I really don't want to see any bigger that him, and he is all frame, the type of score we need with an even, 8mm fat coverage," he said. "He displays all the breed's characteristics, and is all about what the meat industry wants." Blue class-winning sashes were shared among the six exhibitors in the section, with T & L Kitchen having another successful show with awards for junior, senior and grand champion females, and senior champion bull. Mr MacLean again described the winning female, Double Bar Twiggy, as an outstanding heifer. Also displaying a strong line-up was the Morawa Agricultural School, which earned them one blue sash and reserve champion female ribbon. ÿ
