26 Aug, 2008 02:50 PM

Set to contain several new features designed by Western Australian growers, Emerald Group and WAFarmers will launch the highly anticipated WAFarmers WheatPool at the 2008 Dowerin Field Days.

One of the features of the WAFarmers WheatPool, which will be managed by the Emerald Group, will be premium payments for test weight along with protein, moisture and screenings.

According to Mike Chaseling, deputy chairman of Emerald, the WAFarmers WheatPool will provide a number of new features which offer greater flexibility and rewards to growers.

"The pool, to be managed by Emerald, delivers a set of features which rewards growers and provides greater flexibility to suit their businesses," he said.

Mr Chaseling said the decision to include test weight premiums shows Emerald’s commitment to rewarding growers.

"The international market is searching for quality and value, so rewarding test weight is a positive attempt to reflect international market standards," he said.
