GRAINGROWERS has announced the appointment of its Western Region directors to represent all Western Australian and South Australian grain producers.
Trevor De Landgraff from Newdegate in Western Australia and Stephen Ball from Riverton in South Australia will fill the two Director positions created after members overwhelming support at the 2011 AGM providing national Board representation for GrainGrowers.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Trevor and Stephen to the GrainGrowers Board. Both Directors bring immense experience to their roles and will provide enhanced input from South Australian and Western Australian producers,” said John Eastburn, GrainGrowers Chairman.
Trevor De Landgraff owns and operates in partnership with wife Jeanette a 9200ha grain, wool and meat enterprise south east of Newdegate, Western Australia. Mr De Landgraff is Past President of the WA Farmers Federation and is a current member of the Board of Management, committee member of the Emerald Group/WA Farmers Federation wheat pool and a member of Agrifood Skills Australia Rural and Related Standing Committee.
Stephen Ball farms 600ha with his wife Nikki in Riverton, South Australia. Mr Ball was a Nuffield Scholar in 2010 and was previously a Director and Chairman of the South Australian No Till Farmers Association (SANTFA). In conjunction with this, Mr Ball was the inaugural chairman of Conservation Agricultural Alliance of Australia and New Zealand and currently he is a member of the steering group for the Mid North High Rainfall Zone Cropping Group.
“As GrainGrowers continues to work to ensure a sustainable, viable and efficient grains industry on behalf of all grain producers, the input from South Australia and Western Australia to the Board will be critical,” Mr Eastburn said.
The Western Region Directors will hold office until the GrainGrowers Annual General Meeting (AGM) at which time both Directors will be required to have their appointment ratified by GrainGrowers members.
GrainGrowers 2012 AGM will be held in Perth at 9.30am on Wednesday 3 October 2012 at the Burswood Entertainment Centre.
