TRUCKIE Rodney Hunt was on his fifth load of H2 graded wheat from nearby Lake Hinds to the Piawaning CBH bin when Farm Weekly stopped for a chat last week.
It's been a fairly straightforward harvest for Rodney, with no major holdups in delivery and generally getting between five and six loads a day into the bin.
"There was a bit of frost to start with, but most guys got the worst of the paddocks out the way first, I think," he said.
"You do wonder what it would've been like without the frost."
This is Rodney's eighth year with Auhl's Transport and eight harvest in the Wongan Hills area.
Prior to this, he spent eight months harvesting in the United States from Texas up to the Canadian border.
"It's pretty similar but they don't have the grain grades that we have over here," he said.
"A few bins get really technical, like we do here, but mostly it's just hard wheat and soft wheat."
"Like here, it's long days, but a lot of fun."
