LIBERTY Charolais stud principals Kevin and Robin Yost are proud to support the seventh annual WA Charolais Bull Sale by offering what they believe are 12 exceptional Charolais bulls.
All Liberty bulls have been vaccinated against bovine reproductive diseases for herd and buyer protection, including Ultravac 7in1, Vibrovax, Pestigard and are BVDV-tested negative.
The Liberty Charolais herd has been tested and is JBAS 8-accredited.
Bulls have been semen-tested, scanned and performance-recorded.
Scanning was done on November 27, 2017, off pasture and current raw data will be available on sale day.
Represented sires in this year’s sale team include Rangan Park Redemption RAN E42E (P), Liberty Just Ramblin Along Y1K J35E (P), Liberty Xpatriot Y1K X8E (P) and Token Eatons Flagship 4FJ F5E (P).
Redemption is a trait leader for 200, 400 and 600-day weights at +28, +64 and +84 respectively.
Liberty Just Ramblin Along is DNA-tested, homozygous-polled and is a trait leader for 200, 400 and 600-day weights at + 26, +52 and +79 respectively and semen is also available.
AI sires also represented are Cedardale Yellowstone (P), SVY Pilgram (P) and Keys Polled Fusion (P).
Leading the sale team in lot one is Liberty Mr Misunderstood M68E and is one of the best Rambling sons the Yosts say they have bred.
This bull will impress with his length and thickness of body and docility.
It was part of the winning Interbreed Breeders Group and Interbreed Group of Three Bulls at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal.
It was the reserve junior champion at the Brunswick Charolais Feature Show in 2017 and is in the top one per cent for all growth EBVs and top 5pc for both EMA and IMF.
The Yosts believe Liberty Major General M38E, in lot two, is the best bull ever bred at Liberty.
It was the junior, grand and supreme Charolais exhibit at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show, then supreme champion interbreed junior bull with a unanimous decision by the judges.
It also led the stud’s winning interbreed breeders group and interbreed group of three bulls at the show.
Liberty is selling full possession and retaining 50pc share and semen rights.
Major General has it all – moderate birthweight EBV, trait leader for 400 and 600-day weights, top 1pc for 200-day weight and carcase, top 10pc for milk and top 5pc for EMA and IMF.
It is agile with exceptional structure and softness, unbelievable length of body with a huge amount of thickness and the most incredible disposition.
Liberty Marsbar M44E in lot 13 is another powerhouse Rambling son, with tremendous length of body and muscle pattern with added softness.
Liberty Maui Jim M63E in lot 14 is by Rambling who has really stamped his mark on his sons.
Take a good look at this young polled bull that the Yosts believe has got the makings of an exceptional stud sire and in the top 20pc for 400-day weight, top 15pc for 600-day weight and top 10pc for IMF.
Liberty Maverick M19E in lot 15 is a well put together young bull, with plenty of thickness, length and softness and a great disposition.
It has an impressive pedigree with some of Charolais’ best genetics, including Wyoming Wind and Mac 2244 and is below average breed for birthweight and ranked in the top 5pc for rib and rump fats and top 10pc for IMF.
Rambling does it again with the incredibly powerful son Liberty Masterpiece M61E in lot 16.
It’s got great shape, thickness, softness, easy doing and very correct and is in the top 5pc for all growth traits and IMF.
Liberty Moose Jaw M5E in lot 33 is a young bull that was used as a yearling in the stud’s commercial herd in 2017.
It ranks in the top 5pc for 200, 400 and 600-day weights, top 10pc for rib, rump and IMF fats and top 20pc for EMA.
Liberty Mr Playfull M35E in lot 34 is another young bull used in the stud’s commercial herd.
It is a very thick-set young bull with great carcase attributes, from a really good cow family and in the top 10pc for 200 and 400-day weights and top 20pc for EMA.
Liberty Mr Lincon M51E in lot 35 is one of the last Token Eatons Flagship sons to be offered.
It is a very impressive young bull that should produce top vealers or feedlot calves and has below breed average birthweight and is in the top 10pc for rib, rump and IMF fats.
If length of body means dollars, Liberty Montgomery M14E in lot 36 is as long as a train.
It has plenty of depth of flank and hindquarter to round him out and has below breed average birthweight and is in the top 10pc for 200-day weight and top 10pc for EMA.
At only 16 months, the Yosts believe Liberty Mossburg M97E in lot 40 deserves his place in the sale team.
It is soft, long and has a tremendous nature with breed average birthweight and is in top 10pc for 200- day weight and top 20pc for rib, rump and IMF fats.
Liberty Mercury Rising M101E in lot 41 is the final sale bull to be offered.
It is a polled, red son of Canadian sire Winn Mans Lanza and at only 16 months old will impress with breed average birthweight EBV and in the top 15pc for 600-day weight and top 5pc for scrotal.
Liberty is retaining a semen share for use in their herd.
All bulls had been taken off their home-made feed ration on January 18 and are on hay only.
