AUSTRALIAN Pump Industries first introduced a Black Box pressure cleaner to Australia 12 months ago.
Since then, professional and hobby farmers and tradesman of all types have changed their attitude towards a lightweight portable, pressure cleaner.
Aussie’s Black Box weighs 30 kilograms and is built in one of Italy’s biggest pressure cleaner factories to exclusive specifications set by Australian Pump engineers.
“We saw repeated failures of lightweight two pole pressure cleaners of all brands failing because they just weren’t built for sustained professional use,” said Aussie Pumps chief engineer John Hales.
“The Black Box answers all the weaknesses of the competition by producing something that will go the distance, is compact and saves loads of time on the job.”
Aussie’s Black Box has a 2000 psi heavy-duty triplex pump with brass head and ceramic pistons.
Although it’s built to a professional specification, it sells at a DIY price.
The pump delivers eight litres a minute and is equipped with a pressure unloader that doubles as a pressure-setting device.
The Black Box’s heavyweight four pole 1450 rpm motor is designed for long continuous service and includes a thermal dump valve to protect it from extended by-pass running.
“We call this machine the heavyweight champ,” Mr Hales said.
“It packs a real punch and will hands down beat any other machine of its specification.”
The machine comes with a free turbo lance that gives it an effective working pressure of 3400psi.
It also has a Vario lance that enables the operator to vary from high to low pressure and to adjust the nozzle spray from a direct jet to 40 degrees.
The wider spray angle can be used on paths, pavements or walls where flat surfaces are involved, and is claimed by Aussie to be ideal for removing mould from buildings.
When the Vario lance is adjusted to direct jet the performance changes dramatically with the ability to direct the machine’s highest pressure and flow capability at one particular point.
“Customers tell us they can move chewing gum with the direct jet, something everybody operating in a car park, supermarket or school knows is a real chore,” Mr Hales said.
“Tradies like the Black Box because the weight tells them they’re getting value for money while the compact design means it can fit in the back of a ute or in a toolbox.”
The company has recently introduced a 375 millimetres (15 inches) flat surface cleaner with a brass swivel and steel cover to provide real flat surface cleaning efficiency.
This accessory is well matched to the Aussie Black Box.
