THE new CLAAS Lexion 750 was on display at this year's Smoke Free Perth Royal Show.
Tested in Australia last year and on the market this year, the new model from the German manufacturer has a choice of three fronts - the popular 12-metre draper front, the Vario front and standard front.
The Vario front has a hydraulic extendable knife designed for heavy crops and direct cutting canola and the standard front is for a more basic header.
Other features include a new cab design which includes a cebis computer terminal, a new hydraulic system which means a quicker response time when hydraulics are required, new telematics, a 12,000 litre grain tank with a discharging rate up to 110 litres per second, a Caterpillar engine, a new track system for optimal ground protection and a ground speed of up to 40 km/h.
CLAAS sales and service Wongan Hills Dermot Joyce said CLAAS had been producing self-propelled harvesters since 1936.
"They are the market leaders in Europe with 46 per cent sales," Mr Joyce said.
"CLASS offers its own track system with full suspension and price is competitive with other manufacturers."
