Surprisingly, this bundle of kindling was once a part of the Goldfields Pipeline, with some sections being made of (about) 100mm x 25mm (4x1in) slightly curved pieces of wood. They were formed into the right shape with the aid of metal guides, coated with tar and wrapped with 6mm wire. Although long past any use-by date, this bundle was being examined by Dave Adamson (left), Merredin, Colin Wilkin
