IDA Vale stud, Kojonup, competed against itself in the Dorper judging at this year's IGA Perth Royal Show.

In the end, the judge's choice for supreme exhibit was an easy choice with a big, upstanding ram from the under 1.5 years class.

Denam Carter, Ridgetop stud, Mt Barker, said the ram awarded supreme exhibit had tremendous scale.

"He's a powerful sire and has a good, long deep body with a heap of meat," Mr Carter said.

"He's got plenty of breeding potential and is a credit to the exhibitor."

Mr Carter said the champion Dorper ewe demonstrated exceptional growth for its age and was structurally correct.
