A message from Fairfax Media

AT Fairfax Agricultural Media, we’re in the business of story telling – and there’s few stories we enjoy telling

more than those that inspire us.

In the following pages, we’ll introduce you to 100 inspiring women making their mark on agriculture and their rural communities.

Some names you’ll recognise.

Others you might not have heard of though we expect you’ll hear more and more from them in the years to come.

We’ll also share the stories of seven women from our WIAA100 that stood out to our judging panel as outstanding in their field and who demonstrate the incredible impact individuals can make.

Fairfax Agricultural Media is proud to partner with Emerald Grain on an initiative designed to celebrate the achievements of the women that help drive our industry – and we’d like to thank our supporting sponsor, Syngenta, for helping to make it possible.

We’d also like to thank all those who took the time to

nominate the influential women on our list. We think you’ll

agree they are real gems.

Finally to the women that make up our WIAA100: thank

you for sharing your ideas and inspiration and a little of

what makes you tick.

For those of us with daughters – and I have three – we can't think of a more impressive line-up of role models.

Grant Cochrane is Fairfax Media's general manager of agricultural media.
