DANICA Leys is a policy director at NSW Farmers, working in the areas of native vegetation, mining and coal seam gas and water policy to name a few.
She is also a wife a mother to two young girls and a stepmother to her teenage stepson.
In 2012, she was warded the NSW/ACT 2012 Rural Women’s Award for her efforts in building the AgChatOZ community which has become one of Australia’s most successful Twitter chats on the topic of agriculture.
Danica is passionate about the use of social media in its many different forms, and the benefits that it can bring to individuals and communities.
She is very excited about the future of agriculture not only in Australia but across the world.
She has an Honours degree in agricultural science from the University of Sydney and a law degree from the University of New England.
She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has spent time on the board of Australian Women in Agriculture.
