WIAA 100: Kay Matthias

KAY Matthias has been employed in the agricultural sector since 1997, primarily in the communications and marketing area until becoming involved in the rural financial counselling network in 2004.

In 2006 Kay was appointed the inaugural chief executive of Rural Business Support, successfully leading the organisation through significant change from 12 regional services to one Statewide service.

In 2010, Kay established a projects division which looks for ways to collaborate with government and industry to better support a strong and resilient primary industries sector.

Recently Kay was integral into the provision of South Australian-based rural financial counselling services to primary producers facing hardship in the

Northern Territory.

Kay is also part of a number of boards including chair or Regional Development Australia (Yorke/Mid North), Energy and Water Ombudsman Board, SA Water Residential Customer Advisory Group, Rural Media SA and Rural Communities Consultative Committee.
