23 Mar, 2014 01:00 AM

WITH an undergraduate study in agricultural science from Melbourne University and postgraduate study in Applied Finance (Marketing) at FINSIA/Kaplan, Mae Connelly found her niche in grain marketing.

With a broad experience in grain marketing over four States and as an integral part of the Farmanco team, Mae currently provides independent grain marketing advice to growers across the WA Wheatbelt.

In a predominantly male dominated area Mae and fellow Farmanco grain marketer Jane Packard were leaders in bringing marketing to women in the local industry.

Mae is one of the early adopters of social media as a business tool in agriculture – @grainsmae and the Farmanco Facebook page.

She is a member of grain marketing bodies – Grain Trade Australia and the Grain Industry Association of WA.

She is also a founding member of LIFT – a local farming grower group in Lake Grace.

Actively involved in her husband’s farming business, Mae is passionate about helping grain growers manage risk and support their decision making in the ever changing challenging world of grain marketing.
