We need profitability foremost, that will always sort out future production needsThe problem i see from the city to the country trades retailers farmers etc everyone is hurting no money Why, interest rates low not much change Record exports nothing for us Perhaps the money is not in the system so where is it Super funds have massive sums tied up so what if reserve bank released similar amount back into economy like the yanks did would it help Floging off more assetts cheap is not the answer. We must make our own answer sumhow

Agribuzz with David Leyonhjelm

David i"m thinking you have as much grasp on the reality that is unfolding in the bush as the % of votes that got you into office. Why cant you use your position and media privilege in showing why rural industry is hurting and skip the productivity crap, hell knows what we would receive by doubling cattle industry ring a bell.

This is very confronting reading. We have the passive sectors of the economy gleefully putting the boot into the productive sectors. Why dont you get a sheet of paper and list why foreign interests are climbing over each other to get in then list why aust ag and industry are falling like dominoes .Should not take long,At the moment my take on an xspurt is {x dont know] and a spurt is a drip under pressure

agree Qlanda,If we had access to the real value of money as the foreign investors have may be close to 1% not the 8-10% aust retail banks demand.Would be one small step in letting aust invest in aust not flogging it off.

Very interesting, What about this, all these huge animals fossils that are being discovered would have needed huge amounts of vegetation, warm temp etc to survive. If all the carbon captured in the coal and oil fields now was available then but was slowly locked up year by year till the climate changed to being to dry and cold to support them is released, would things go back to warmer and wetter. Good or bad, I would like it warmer and wetter.

Vertical integration, as every commodity is assigned a book value while on farm then a market value when sold what happens if no sale is realized from farm to ship? If primary products are loaded out on book value only what tax jobs etc for aus.But what a earner for FDI and the reasons and potential is all written in the article above.

It astounds me how these articles keep getting trotted out by people with nothing to do with the land, produce zip then try to impose there one eyed views on an industry decimated by policy, prices drought, flood fire.If you get your way and sell us up we could look at starting a bank or making cars or an IT company. That sounds a lot safer than trying to produce food and fibre .My point is why the hell are australians being given second place in developing ag. There was BILLIONS handed over to the above for nothing solid. We need an australian vision not a foreign EMBRACE.
