wtf, did you ever stop to think of the fallout if the aussie banks did stumble during the GFC. Total failure across all sectors.
What is the net effect if even 50% of farming operations in QLD are bankrupt... The answer - Not a hell of a lot. There will be some tears, there will be some lost genetics and there will be some lost knowledge - land prices will drop but commodities will go up so profitability will return. We can bank bash all we want but in the end we took the loans on, we got away letting our operational costs (what other business does this) eat into our equity. Its all on us...

Pepper, are you kidding? Woe is me, i "Choose" to live in a regional area. I produce almost zero government revenue per square metre, i have a population of 0.000001 person per square metre but i want a bus to my door, reticulated water and a hospital on the stock route out the front.
Give up your lifestyle, come to the city - Then tell me how good city peeps have it. Each to his own but when it's goverment money being spent - It has to go to the greatest tangible good, spirituality and lifestyle choices have no place in goverment policy.

The planet has been experiencing change since the begining of time. Believe it or not there was crocodilians in the arctic circle a long time back. We all need to reduce our ecological footprint and embrace the change. Tripping out about water vapour condensing due to localised pressure/temp variance behind aeroplanes ain't helping one bit.
