I have to agree entirely with Sam, once you had politicians you either loved (rarely) or loathed (remember Gough?), however either way there was some intention to actually improve the nation. Now, we have the "professional" politician who tells the biggest lies to get into power and then never follows through with any sane policy when actually in power, all for political expediency (and the big superannuation payout).
We vote one out and his clone is voted in, just belonging to a different party.
A matter of opinion
I agree 100% with the writer. No offence to Richie but he does look very frail these days and certainly doesn't look capable of eating 2 small chops. Someone with a profile to attract the younger age group would be more appropriate.
If the live export trade works within Government guidelines and it is legal to export live sheep and cattle then the RSPCA has no role in trying to ban the export.
The problem as I see it is that the RSPCA has "lost it's way" in this country and seems to be a front for the idiots of PETA and other citified people who have no idea of the realities of country life. Farmers in Australia do not want their animals to suffer needlessly as they are what brings in the dollars. The healthier the animal is, the more dollars you will get.
How is it that when Governments think about taxes it is always increases going to something worthwhile like roads? It is just spin! The extra money will go straight to the capital cities and country muggins won't see any improvements. The Federal government has also claimed recently that there is a short-fall in the money raised by GST, but not mentioning the actual increases of GST caused by higher prices and therefore higher GST.
Who can you trust? All political parties to raise more taxes so no one can actually save money and get ahead!
If Senator Muir follows up his words with actions to support the "ordinary taxpayer" he will deserve and hopefully get many more votes in the next election.
