Godzilla vs Bamby. I acknowledge Joyce's 'vision splendid...' but my concern is around his capacity to deliver on expectations so extended in the white paper. People don't look at the big picture when concerned with their own back yard
Farmers make their decisions and live with the consequences of their choices, like us all. You Senator, have the capacity to adjust the ground rules that allow them scope to flourish or stagnate. The White Paper is a 'vision splendid' and I look forward to how you manage the expectations you have raised from that process. Looking forward to seeing some walk in the talk/fine words above
I think we need to carefully discuss the definition here. Does “first-stage processors beyond the farmgate” really cover 'agribusiness'? 'Second-stage'? Is a logistics/grain handling/export company a processor? Is "beyond the farmgate" colloquial or confusing? Is this really clear wording? The words creator defined it broadly as; "Agribusiness refers to the whole constellation of activities and supporting institutions that are involved in the world's complex food and fiber system." (Ray Goldberg, 1997). Got it all there.
"A New Hope" for corporate agriculture?
