Unserviceable public debt is fashionable at the moment right around the world but has a serious sting in its tail that can stagnate economies for decades.
The US at the moment has a eighteen trillion dollar debt that is more than fifty% of its GDP, unserviceable, its currently paying its bills with printed money which inevitably is inflationary followed by hyper interest rates and recession. As a world economic power its days are numbered, something Australia should consider as we ponder our place in the world.
