A matter of opinion
Riddle me this. If this is a good idea why is that uninfluencial organisation, Minerals Council of Australia, in ACT and not the Pilbara. Must be all the big mines in Barton.
Just ask yourself what would be the situation for many growers if ADM simply removed one service ie warehousing. Look at brazil for the answer.
Burrs under my saddle
Spot on. By the way, can anybody remember the last time Mr. Truss said anything memorable about agriculture to the wider community? I can't.
The GRDC is one of the best rdcs and does a great job of coordinating research around Aust. If this is such a great idea I expect we will see the minerals council relocate to Kalgoorlie.
I love the way the thin line finished at the border in the article. However, imo, this could be the start of a very good drought policy providing infrastructure and jobs to keep whole communities going.
If as suggested above, this is a crock and waste, what would you propose? I would suggest a couple of examples. Export cattle debacle driven by AA online and aboriginal legal service funding reversal, again driven online.
If the climate change theory was faulty it would take but one scientist to publish a peer reviewed study showing how and the theory would be dead. In 20 odd years that hasn't happened.
Too much water is not healthy either. That's why people drown. When it comes to co2 it is the release of sequestered co2 as fossil fuel that is the problem. Not whether co2 is useful in some other form
Unfortunately it isn't horse dung. If it was, we might be able to compost it, add it to soil and hopefully sequester some of its carbon. Thus improving the situation we find our selves in. I guess it might be best to take it seriously, apply some mental capacity to the problem and start adapting.
If you live in the Murray-Darling basin you should thank Mr. Windsor for his efforts in this area. Without it the result would have been considerably worse.
Alternatively we could invest in non polluting alternative energy sources to cap the peak prices
For all the criticism of farmers failing to prepare adequately for drought, I have to say that the govt's preparedness of clear drought policy, from both sides, is unfortunately no better.
