Out of the shadow
Given this is a piece on Nuffield, wouldn't it be more instructive and interesting for you to have researched and mentioned just some of what these scholars have achieved. What is the ROI on this program and how have they helped to deliver on your 3 priorities?
Jock is the only commentator thus far that actually understands in some detail what actually happened. Thank goodness Jock is willing to comment on the truth, not just respond to lazy journalists comments. It would be nice to see the rural press dig a little deeper .
Why would Trevor be stripped of his awards. He has not been found guilty of anything. He holds his head high and will be vindicated when ASIC's case fails miserably.
Michael Chaney ( ex CEO of Wesfarmers) still can't wipe the smile of his face after AWB paid an exorbitant $800m for a few shops selling drench and selling stock. Thanks to Agrium for saving AWB shareholders bacon when they stumped up $1.2 bn for the lot once the single desk was abolished. Doubt there will be anyone else stupid enough to pay anywhere near that kind of money. Agrium will take a big haircut.
Barry....that's what we elect governments to do!
Attracting top talent to rural areas begins at the University level.. Benefits of pursuing a rural medical career must be sold to the students early on. They must see the financial rewards commensurate with their city peers. Altruistic notions of serving the community may motivate a select few but 'show them the money'.
