Mike; given that the National party no longer represents the bush only the industry bodies and the levy spenders, the 10%ers, then why should we continue to support the NP? The Liberal Democrats are the only ones fighting for the average farmer - exercise your democratic right when you vote next time and vote down the NP. Get involved with the Liberal Democrats!!
David , thank you for an accurate article; the title is spot on as well “hypocrisy”!!!
Like Jo Bloomfield wants to sell on live-ex but wants to placate AW/AA and the other extreme terrorist animal rights groups. These producers run the risk of being labelled "extremists" in their own right. Wanting to enforce Australian regulations on a foreign country, either we sell them the cattle or not, you cannot control something after it’s sold!!!!
Scott has a point; what he is outlining is exactly what is happening in the Ord irrigation right now - the Chinese State owned enterprise there is growing ag products, containerizing them and shipping them out direct to China - there is no sale recorded, no Australian tax paid - the farms are staffed by Chinese using imported machinery and housing etc.. there is no economic benefit to Australia - the only way may be to put a tariff on those kind of goods - but Scott has a point and its already happening
best news I've heard, Joyce needs to go Tony he cant do the job he currently in, he cant accept the will of the people in the cattle industry even after the Senate has given him a proper researched outcome, he's a drone.
you should stand Tony, there's still work to be done!!
I am in full and absolute agreement with JC - spot on John. I see the Minister says “This change will support prescribed industry representative bodies’ efforts to engage with their constituency,” that infers we have no choice and the fact is we do not have a choice under the nationl party and that is what we must fight for that freedom of choice - ID is a necessity and then a plebiscite to determine "Do you want to continue to pay the CTL" - and the answer is NO!!
I am wondering why the cattle industry people are commenting here, and trying to argue staying viable let alone profitable; the AA crew are simply terrorists and want to destroy farming and agriculture.
If these activists were truly concerned about animal welfare why aren't they applying their animal welfare standards to the war zones in the world; human suffering means nothing to them only destruction of farmers and their families, and the starvation of millions of people around the world.
