A matter of opinion
Well Said Mathew,
On our place before we could ever have a wireless internet system, we would actually need Phone signal first.
I do have one big hill that if I drive up on top, and stand in the back of the ute, and point the phone in one particular direction I can sometimes get 2 bars of signal on the Phone!
If I went to the Pub and they had Irish Stew on the Menu that attracted a tax to the Irish Catholics , then I wouldn't order it, the same goes for Halal as far as I am concerned. I refuse to pay a religious tax to any religious organisation, I don't Believe in Sky Faries sorry! so I don't mind the Halal Label, it helps me know what not to buy!
The Kidman stations will still be sold, but to Australians rather than Foreign Governments.
How is this a bad thing?
I have a lever action Chiappa Shotgun. same action just holds 5 shots instead of 7 with this new gun. but sometimes there are more animals than one, or I miss, so 2 shots doesn't always cut it.
Its a handy tool for foxes and feral cats particularly in daylight and at short range when I spot them near buildings, water points etc , when you come across them they don't stand still in the daytime! if spotlighting at night a rifle is a better tool as they will stop in the light beam. For every fox and every feral cat I destroy how many lambs, native birds and small marsupials do I save?
Jacky, have a look at the photo of the Shotgun, and see the length of the Magazine tube, not a whole lot you could saw off to make this shorter.
And also firearms are just one of the tools I use for feral animal control, along with baiting, trapping, ripping, fencing etc.
If you have armed hunters invading your place without your Knowledge that would suggest that you are not a fair dinkum land manager yourself!
Pay attention, I have a sheep station on the West Coast of SA, I have 7 rifles and 3 shotguns, I don't make the Laws Mate, if you want to test it out, try shooting someone you catch rustling from you and see what sentence the Judge gives you.
There is a big difference between owners of firearms in Australia and the USA.
Australians Own firearms for sport shooting, Hunting, and as an important tool on properties for feral pest, and lame stock management.
Americans owns firearms to defend themselves.
It is illegal to use a firearm for self defence in Australia (unless you are a police officer) As regardless of who it is you would be shooting at, Murder is still a crime!
