Even with an example of what is possible with many generational farmers still having their original WES holding in the family unit, a few amongst the ranks still can't see corporatisation is the only paths forward to deal with competition. The current boards solution has been to discount price in the Bunbury catchment. Well how long do they plan to have us all subsidise this luxury given Bunge has already built the port and won't be leaving ... ever. Sheer simpledons. Likewise to compete in oats, wheat growers take it on the chin with receival rebate to oat growers. Monopoly madness

Now Dreyfus has a port footprint in the Kwinana zone you can expect they will pursue plans to move up country as well. The great WA grain boom is about to begin and competition will deliver significant cost savings to WA grain growers. Kwinana is the zone that will benefit most as it has the largest catchment, most reliable production base and is the best positioned in terms of rail and road infrastructure. And CBH sits there like a stunned mullet pondering investments in .....NSW?
