TOWNSVILLE’s iconic entertainment venue – Melvilles Aussie Tavern and Farm – is on the market.
This amazing venture will be sold, and is just needing its new owner to lead the way into the future.
Located on 6 hectares (15 acres) of scenic land that backs onto Alligator Creek, Melvilles is a 20 minute drive south of Townsville.
Craig and Ruth Melville are the driving force behind this unique family owned business which they started way back in 1986.
Those humble beginnings have constantly developed to become the now-iconic event centre, known throughout the north.
Craig and Ruth’s mobile petting zoo enterprise, itself an extension of Melville’s Tavern, is the direction they have chosen for their future. This leaves the gates open for a new owner to step in and take over, reinvigorate the property and expand the venue.
Something this unique operation will of course require is a transition period, which is already well prepared and catered for, and ready to implement.
The variety of events on offer at Melville’s ultimately drives the income stream. It is diverse, interesting and abundant as can be imagined.
The venue caters for a large number of events including: rodeos, weddings, product launches, teddy bear picnics, music festivals, fairs, markets, lawn mower racing, camel racing, bucks and hens parties, kids parties, school excursions, and social club gatherings. The list goes on and on. The venue also operates on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons.
The theme here is Early Australiana, and it fits so well.
On the business side of operations, everything is set in motion, with all approvals in place including a liquor license with outlets approved, irrigation licensing, and operations manuals and booking systems that are easy to follow and manage.
The transition process for a new owner is designed to be as smooth and effective as it can possibly be.
Melvilles Aussie Tavern and Farm is being sold through an expressions of interest process. Offers are sought in the mid-$2 million range.
An information memorandum is available on request and all inspections are privately conducted, by appointment only.
