Due to the farm being located in a wetter region, cropping has never been an option so livestock has been run on the farm.
The Nutrien Livestock team, along with returning and first-time vendors, yarded an outstanding line-up of heifers and steers, which drew in a sizeable crowd of both buyers and onlookers.
This year, a total of 50 teams of cattle were entered for the annual challenge that has grown in popularity, interest and credibility, producing useful data for entrants, processors and competition followers alike.
Buyers came from near and far, with many leaving with their bank accounts still intact as the competition was way to hot for them.
It was a result that had many shaking their heads in awe, none more so than Nutrien Livestock Mt Barker agent and auctioneer Harry Carroll.
Some excellent drafts from renowned vendors attracted strong competition and values, while there was little difference in the prices paid when compared with the previous week's sale.
