IT might have been a damp day at Jangering Pty Ltd's clearing sale, Pingelly last Friday.
But there was nothing "damp" about the spirited bidding which saw a 2015 Fendt 822 (760 hours) FWA tractor topping the sale at $175,000.
The 164kW (220hp) tractor failed to meet the reserve price during the auction, but sold after the auction to KD Power Pastoral, Busselton for $175,000.
More than 305 registered bidders at the Landmark-held sale provided plenty of competitive bidding from farmers, many of whom travelled long distances.
One of the big ticket items was a 2015 27.4 metre (90ft) Hardi Navigator 6000 boomsprayer, which was knocked down for $97,000 to Ian Campbell and Son, Gairdner.
The atmosphere remained competitive when a JCB 531-70 telehandler (5600hrs) with bucket and pallet forks, came under the hammer.
It was sold to LR and BJ Shaddick, Pingelly, for $45,500.
Competition also didn't stop when a 2366 AFS axial flow Case IH header (4700 engine hours and over 3600 rotor hours) was put up for bids.
It eventually went to AK and PA Moulton, who took the header home to East Pingelly for $35,000.
Other items to sell well included 24 panel Cyclone portable sheep yards for $3100; 40 panel Commander Ag-quip tandem axle portable sheep yards for $6400; a 16 tonne Trufab chaser bin was sold for $23,000 to EH and BH Cocking and sons, Wannamal and a 10t Marshall 810 Multispread was bought for $32,000.
A 876 Versatile 4WD 209kW (280hp) tractor also attracted several bidders before a successful bid from LJ and O Dawes, Yealering, who took home the tractor for $25,000.
Several vintage items were on the market, including a two door 1964 Morris Mini Minor 850 sedan which was taken home for $5400.
An Austin Champ 1/4 tonne 4x4 truck (33,000km) with a Rolls Royce series B four cylinder petrol engine went for $5200.
Interesting sundry items included a bunch of yabby nets ($320), two-way radios ($50) and a hotly contested 2015 Topcon X20 GPS and guidance system for $4200.
Vendor John English said he was pleased with the results of the sale.
"We're very happy, we had a great turn out and it has been a good day."
In the livestock section, about 2200 Merino lambs were up for grabs, including wethers that topped at $116 a head, and ewes that peaked at $133 a head.
