THERE is a new sugarcane harvester in town and its manufacturer says it is right on track.
Engineering company Samart Kaset Yont, based in the sugar producing area of Chainat, Thailand recently expanded operations internationally, targeting South East Asia, South America and now Australia.
The company is unique in the market because it only produces models on tracked systems.
Aiming to reduce compaction a self-unloading system is also incorporated, reducing the need for road transport to enter the field.
To target the international market, the Samart has developed machines with what it calls a more ‘western’ approach to design.
Samart, operations director, Srinual Leethirananon said the operator cabin is now a European design, including air-conditioning.
“Moving to European sourced cabin opens new possibilities for us” she said.
“Reduction of the noise and vibration being transferred to the operator cabin is just part of a much larger program.
“Internationally, customers expect a higher standard, not just in comfort but in all facets of the machine design and as we compete more and more on the international stage we will be providing European standards in all main aspects of our products.”
Ms Leethirananon said the companies ethos was to always let the customer lead.
“Our products are a tool helping our customers to maximise profit, not an ego trip for our designers,” she said.
“We simply design for maximum reliable output, minimum maintenance and overall ease of operation.”
The range comprises two principle designs, the SM-200 on a standard track base, and the SM-200 Giant on a half-track design.
Both are available with power options between 165 and 190 kW.
